GETTING TO ARRAN
Your island adventure starts long before the music kicks in. The Isle of Arran is easy to reach — and we promise, the journey’s part of the magic. Here's everything you need to plan your trip.
Getting to Arran by Ferry
The easiest and most scenic way to reach the island is by taking the CalMac ferry from Ardrossan to Brodick or Troon to Brodick — your gateway to Adventures on Arran. The ferry takes around 55 minutes and drops you right in the heart of the Arran.
You can travel as a foot passenger, with a car, or by bike, and there are regular sailings throughout the day. The crossing offers epic views of the Firth of Clyde — it’s the perfect way to ease into the festival vibe.
We recommend booking in advance, especially if you're bringing a vehicle, as ferries fill up fast during peak weekends.
Getting to the Ferry Port (Ardrossan or Troon)
From Glasgow, you can take a direct train from Glasgow Central to Ardrossan Harbour in just over an hour — trains are timed with CalMac ferry sailings and drop you right at the terminal.
You can also travel via Troon, with additional ferry options during peak times or as backup sailings — ideal if Ardrossan is fully booked or you’re coming from the south.
Driving?
Both Ardrossan and Troon are easily accessible from Glasgow via the M8 and A78, with free and paid parking near both ports. Just be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes early if you’re taking your car on board.
Getting around Arran
Once you arrive in Brodick, you're basically in the heart of the festival.
Botanical Beach Bar and The Wineport are walkable from the ferry
Hidden Forest @ The Ormidale is a short taxi ride or manageable walk
Local buses also connect Brodick with nearby areas — check Stagecoach West Scotland
Taxis are available on the island but can book up fast during busy weekends — pre-book if you can.
